What this assessment measures

The 20 questions map to the data a textile Digital Product Passport will have to carry under ESPR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, Article 7 and Annex III) and to what EU buyers already ask garment suppliers for today. They are grouped into seven areas:

  • Product identity (3 questions) — GTINs, digital product specifications, a master style list. Without a valid product identifier a passport cannot be registered at all.
  • Materials (3) — exact fibre composition, certified recycled content, country of origin of cotton, yarn and fabric.
  • Environment (3) — carbon footprint, water and energy per unit, effluent treatment.
  • Supply chain (4) — Tier-1 and Tier-2 traceability, current social audits, disclosed subcontracting.
  • Chemicals (3) — SVHC/REACH declarations, certifications such as OEKO-TEX or GOTS, ZDHC MRSL conformance in wet processing.
  • Circularity (2) — care instructions, mono-material and durability information.
  • Team and systems (2) — a named data owner, production data in software rather than on paper.

Why these questions

Most passports fail for ordinary reasons: a fibre percentage nobody wrote down, a GRS certificate that expired, a dye house that never sent a chemical declaration. Each question targets one of those failure points. Some gaps are blocking — the passport cannot be published without that data — and the result shows a "publish check" that stays closed until they are fixed. Other gaps only weaken the passport or slow down buyer onboarding.

What you get

An overall readiness score, a breakdown by the seven areas, your biggest gaps ranked, and a specific recommendation for each one — for example which supplier to ask for which document. The full report can be saved as a PDF and shared with your merchandising, compliance and production teams. It is free, needs no account, and you can retake it after every improvement.
