EU Central DPP Registry
The Commission launched the registry one day after the ESPR Article 13 set-up deadline of 19 July 2026. Registrations follow each delegated act, and automatic customs checks follow the registry–customs link (Art. 15). A set-up milestone, not yet a factory obligation.

Unsold-goods destruction ban
Large enterprises may no longer destroy unsold apparel and footwear (ESPR Article 25). Separately, Article 24 requires an annual disclosure of discarded unsold products; micro and small enterprises are exempt. Medium enterprises follow in 2030.

Timeline FAQ

Quick Answers

Why do the dates show ranges instead of exact days?
+
Because each sector's date is set by its own Delegated Act, and most are still in drafting. The pattern is fixed though: Delegated Act adopted → published data requirements → normally at least 18 months of transition from entry into force (ESPR Art. 4(4)) → enforcement. Only batteries have a hard date today (18 February 2027, under their own regulation).
Which dates are already certain?
+
Three are locked by law: 19 July 2026 — ESPR Art. 13 deadline for the EU Central DPP Registry, which launched on 20 July 2026; 19 July 2026 — unsold apparel/footwear destruction ban for large enterprises (Art. 25); 18 February 2027 — battery passports mandatory (Reg. 2023/1542). Everything else follows its Delegated Act.
My factory makes garments — why should other sectors' dates matter?
+
Two reasons. Steel and aluminium come first (the iron and steel act is indicated for adoption in Q4 2026); as intermediate products, their data starts flowing down supply chains, including to makers of metal trims, before textile rules apply. And the earlier sectors are the live rehearsal: the battery passport's registry, identifier and customs mechanics in 2027 are exactly what textiles inherit in 2028–29.
Where do these dates come from?
+
The ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030 (adopted by the European Commission), the ESPR text itself (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781), and the Battery Regulation 2023/1542. We update this table when a Delegated Act is adopted — the news page tracks each one.
